Economical Home Made Winter Storm Windows
In the winter months when you run the heat with the windows closed, you can create a homemade storm window solution with your existing windows screens. Remove your window screens from the windows and wrap them with white (or if possible) translucent plastic bags. Then secure the plastic bags to the screen using a transparent packing tape. After you have wrapped your screens, remount them over the windows. The bagged screens will insulate the window from cold air and wind blasts. How's that for storm prep on a budget?

Interior replacement storm windows
Interior storm window frames are a good choice for residents who live
in apartments or homes with more than one floor. The reason for this is
that interior storm windows are generally easier to install. You will
be mounting them on the inside of your home so no ladders or hedge clippers
needed. These windows seal tightly to the primary window, which reduces
cold air infiltration. Another consideration with interior windows is
that they are not directly exposed to the elements, so they wont take
a beating. This translates to less maintenance.
